About Our Chapter

Blessed John Paul II Chapter meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at Santa Maria Council #1443, 350 W. Crystal Lake Ave, Haddon Twp, NJ. The Chapter Chairman for 2015-2016 is George Tutwiler, DD from Immaculate Conception #3512 in Pennsauken, NJ. You can contact him by email at Gtutg@aol.com.

Blessed John Paul II Chapter was founded more that 60 years ago under the original name of Camden/Gloucester Counties Chapter. Since then, councils from Salem County have joined and in 2005 the name was changed to Blessed John Paul II Chapter with membership of over 40 different Councils comprising more than 5000 members in Gloucester, Camden and Salem Counties. Each council has 5 delegates and 5 alternates as representatives to the Chapter meetings.

The mission of our Chapter as listed in the Chapter by-laws is "charity and to consider all matters of general Catholic interest, to adopt such measures as shall project and promote those interests, the general welfare of the Councils comprising this Chapter and the well-being of their members and to relieve, by assistance, cases of genuine interest."

In addition to promoting Charity and providing relief for members in need, our Chapter meetings provide a monthly forum for Grand Knights to exchange ideas, report on council activities as well as afford an additional opportunity to meet with the council's District Deputy and the State Officer from our diocese. From time to time, the Chapter leads projects that include multiple councils. For example, each year our Chapter, together with Father Araneo Chapter, hosts an annual Pride in Our Priests Dinner with an invitation to all priests in the Camden Diocese.
